Evakueringar har påbörjats, där passagerare förs iland i förseglade båtar till hamnen i Granadilla och transporteras till flygplatsen under strikt isolering. Spanska medborgare repatrierades först, följt av andra nationaliteter; USA, Storbritannien och Australien har utlovat flyg. Inga nya symptom har rapporterats sedan 28 april. WHO säger att den övergripande folkhälsorisken är låg men noterar att fler fall kan uppstå med tanke på inkubationstiden.
