Skybus cited a huge rise in fuel costs and a significant drop in bookings as reasons for the cancellation.

Airlines are cancelling flights proactively to avoid compensation claims for last-minute cancellations, industry analysts note. The cancellation decision was beyond Cornwall Airport Newquay's control, airport officials stated.
