A research team has developed the world's smallest QR code, covering just 1,977 square micrometers and requiring an electron microscope for scanning, earning a Guinness World Record. The breakthrough, led by scientists from Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien) in collaboration with Cerabyte, uses ceramic membranes and ion beams to create pixels 49 nanometers in size, with potential applications in durable data storage.
