  • Shootings and serious crimes are being investigated in Norrköping, Malmö, and Örebro, with police increasing presence.

In Larvik, police deployed multiple resources after a fight involving striking weapons. Officers were armed during the search for suspects, according to operations leader Ståle Olstad Fuglaas. The motive remains unclear, but authorities said they have good information about who committed the act.

In Skåne, police received a call about an injured person and found two injured individuals who were taken to hospital with unclear injury status. A cordon was set up and crime scene technicians were called to the scene, with the offense classified as attempted murder. Police are investigating a serious crime in western Norrköping and working intensively to gather information.

In the last five years, Norrköping has seen 18 shootings, 9 murders, and 9 injuries from gun violence. In October 2024, a teenager was shot five times; police officer Filip Åberg described arriving minutes later to find the victim grabbing his jacket and asking for help, saying he didn't want to die. In Malmö, a shot was fired into a car, entering through the rear window, but the two occupants were not physically injured, according to local police area chief Rebecca Folic Olofsson.

No suspect had been arrested as of Friday afternoon, and police are conducting witness interviews and crime scene investigation. Olofsson said police are implementing safety-creating measures due to spreading unease, including presence at schools not directly near the incident. In Örebro, police fear new violent acts linked to a gang war and have reinforced presence in conflict-affected residential areas, with an ongoing trial regarding a mosque murder increasing the risk of new violence between rival gangs.

Infrastructure threats have also emerged. Police are still investigating whether gasoline contamination in Longyearbyen is a criminal act, with the investigation concerning possible criminal damage, not sabotage. In Tranemo, several break-in attempts occurred at water facilities around the turn of the year 2024/2025, leading the municipality to enter staff mode and advise thousands of residents to avoid tap water pending test results.

Morgan Leandersson led work to build more robust perimeter protection around water facilities, creating multiple barriers to delay intruders. Police operations are ongoing in several locations. In Uppsala, a police operation is underway at Albert Engströmsgatan in Gränby to investigate a crime, with no injuries reported.

According to UNT, police were seen with drawn weapons and at least seven patrols on site. In Örbyhus, police are investigating a suspected serious crime, with an area cordoned off for technical investigation, but there is no danger to the public. In Eskilstuna, a police operation in Nyfors involved investigative work, not ongoing criminality, possibly a search or forensic examination.

In Stockholm, police are investigating a suspected serious crime in a park on Södermalm and searching for a perpetrator who fled on a bicycle. In Örnsköldsvik, five young men were convicted for assaulting and exposing a man as a pedophile at the travel center in late May last year. The perpetrators filmed the assault and shared it on social media.

One of the men was also sentenced for child pornography and offensive photography for filming underage girls in a school shower, receiving a sentence of three years and three months in prison. The five were part of the same friend group and had applied to join 'Pedo Hunting Sweden'. According to police via Aftonbladet, several of them moved in violence-prone environments and had links to supporter violence.

Four were convicted of aggravated assault, receiving sentences between one and just over two years in prison, while the youngest, a 17-year-old, was sentenced to youth care for exposing the person on social media. Separately, a 10-year-old was assaulted during a football match in Örnsköldsvik, according to the father. In Helsinki, police are requesting a witness to come forward regarding a homicide in Malminkartano.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect at the square on March 18 at about 22:50, and a passerby seen in the footage may have exchanged a few words with the suspect. Police want to hear this person as a witness, not a suspect. In Everöd, a suspected attempted murder is under investigation.

Traffic and public order incidents were reported in Västernorrland. , one person was taken for testing on suspicion of a drug offense, and a wildlife accident was reported with no personal injuries. In Kramfors, a male driver in his 40s without a license was suspected of drug influence and taken for testing, with a report filed for drug driving, minor drug offense, and aggravated unlicensed driving.

To report police misconduct, individuals can call or visit a police station. The public can tip off police 24/7 by calling 114 14. Mediation is available as a voluntary meeting between an offender and a victim, free and confidential, and does not replace prosecution or trial.
