Police seize cocaine and bust theft rings across Europe

The three men were taken into custody after a car search on Monday evening, according to officials. Two of the men are in their 20s, and the third is in his 60s. They have been remanded in custody for four weeks with letter and visit control, including two weeks in isolation.

According to the remand documents, the three are charged with a serious drug offense under section 232 of the Penal Code. A larger quantity of white powder was found during the search, and police say it appears to be cocaine. 2 kilograms.

One of the accused denied all knowledge of the drugs in questioning and said he was tricked, but the court did not believe his explanation, noting that he was driving the car. The other two accused have not yet explained themselves to the police. The court believes there is a risk that the accused could tamper with evidence or coordinate explanations if released, and that they can expect prison sentences of over six months if convicted.

The court emphasized that the investigation is in an initial phase, and it is still unclear to the police what roles the three had. John Marius Dybvik is the lawyer for the third man, a man in his 60s. In Australia, a criminal syndicate allegedly shipped stolen high-end Toyota vehicles from Victoria and Queensland to the UAE in shipping containers.

Police allege the syndicate stole over 150 vehicles worth over $20 million from Victoria and 60 vehicles from Queensland. A 27-year-old man from Doveton was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit theft of motor vehicles, theft of motor vehicles, and handling stolen goods related to 46 incidents between August and September 2025. During raids, police seized three vehicles, electronic devices, and business and banking records.

The syndicate allegedly used a commercial premises in Cranbourne West to load stolen vehicles into shipping containers for transport to the Port of Melbourne and then to the UAE. Police do not believe the shipping companies were aware of the stolen contents. Many vehicles were stolen by accessing on-board computers via the vehicle's wiring, police believe.

The arrested man was released on bail and is due in court on March 26. In California, a traffic stop in Clearlake on Easter Sunday led to the discovery of two homicide victims. Officers found large amounts of blood in a Chevrolet Suburban and an unresponsive man who was pronounced dead.

A gun was found near where the passenger attempted to flee, and a female victim was found dead down an embankment miles away. Suspects Alex Kenneth Schussolin, 37, and Jasslynn Pearl Critchett, 32, were arrested and face charges of murder and carjacking. The victims were identified as Desiree Fuentes and Terry Harris from Sonoma County.

Investigators believe the victims and suspects met for the first time on Sunday with no prior connection, and the victims were in legal possession of the vehicle the suspects were driving. The suspects face life without parole if convicted. In Stockholm, police have received a large number of reports of stolen rearview mirrors, over 50 cases before the weekend and more added during the weekend.

All cases involve mirrors stolen from BMW cars. Thefts occurred in several locations in the police region, with Täby and Danderyd being particularly affected. With help from surveillance camera images, four suspected perpetrators were identified and arrested in Sigtuna municipality after a surveillance operation.

Some stolen goods were secured during the arrest. All four are around 30 years old and are suspected of aggravated theft. Police still request that people in affected areas review their surveillance cameras as it is important for the ongoing investigation.

In Trelleborg, three men are detained suspected of unlawful deprivation of liberty, aggravated theft, and impersonating a public official. The men allegedly contacted a truck driver parked in Trelleborg for the night, claimed to be police officers, showed some type of identification, and made the driver go with them for testing. The driver was then driven to a location outside Trelleborg and left there, while his truck loaded with high-value sports articles was stolen.

The three suspects were arrested during the night and are now detained; the case is led by a prosecutor. The truck with its cargo has been recovered, and the truck driver was not physically injured. In Drammen, both hearses belonging to Avskjed Begravelsesbyrå were stolen on Thursday evening.

Drammen Taxi observed one of the hearses parked, but when employees went to secure it, they ended up in a police chase of the other hearse. Both hearses have been recovered; the one not involved in the chase is in good condition, while the other has relatively large material damages and is leaking oil. The bureau is now operating normally and will assess if they need to borrow a car from colleagues.

A man in his 40s is in custody in Drammen, charged with vehicle theft and multiple traffic violations. He has previous convictions for vehicle theft. Only one person has been arrested in the case; the other thief is still at large.

In Sydney, two 22-year-old men were charged after police stopped a 'kill car' in Marsden Park containing weapons, cable ties, and fuel. The stop followed a home invasion in Whalan where four men forced entry with a hammer and firearm but fled before police arrived. Police found a pump-action shotgun, ammunition, jerry cans, sledgehammers, baseball bats, duct tape, cable ties, and pillowcases in the Hyundai hatchback.

The men face charges including possessing an unauthorised firearm, unregistered firearm, ammunition without a licence, and a defaced firearm. Both men were refused bail and are due in Mount Druitt Local Court on Thursday. Taskforce Falcon detectives thwarted an alleged violent crime with the interception.

Separately, three men aged 24, 25, and 28 were arrested after a police chase in Sydney involving a stolen white Audi. During the pursuit, the men allegedly threw jerry cans of fuel onto the M4 Motorway. Police rammed the car in Lidcombe, and the men fled but were captured with help from PolAir and the Dog Squad.

A semi-automatic rifle and a pistol were found in the abandoned Audi. The stolen Audi may be connected to recent shootings and firebombings in south-west Sydney. Bicycle theft rings were also targeted across Europe.

In November 2023, several bikes and e-bikes were stolen from a bicycle storage room in a residential complex in Unterägeri. One of the stolen bikes contained a tracker whose signal was located in a municipality in the canton of Zurich. Officers from the Zurich cantonal police arrested three men who were transferring bicycle parts and newly packed bicycles from a delivery van into a car.

The three men were transferred to Zug on behalf of the public prosecutor's office of the canton of Zug. One arrested man was released after proving he was not involved in the theft. Two Romanian nationals aged 28 and 32 were remanded in custody on urgent suspicion.

They deposited some of the two-wheelers in a wooded area in Unterägeri and on the Ratenpass. The perpetrators dismantled the stolen bicycles, affixed new frame numbers, packed them into bags, and created forged documents. The deposited two-wheelers were found and recovered thanks to an attentive private individual and information from one of those arrested.

The two Romanian nationals were sentenced to a fine of several thousand francs each after 85 days in custody for receiving stolen goods and attempted receiving stolen goods. The investigation into the third person who forced entry and gave instructions is still ongoing. On October 17, 2024, Austrian customs officers stopped a van and trailer at Höchst-St.

Margarethen border crossing and found 27 e-bikes and bicycles worth 60,000-70,000 euros, some reported stolen in Switzerland. The 35-year-old driver and 43-year-old co-driver were arrested, then released after consultation with the public prosecutor's office in Feldkirch and reported at large. Further investigations into the origin of the bikes are underway.

Other notable incidents include the theft of about £200,000 raised for a scouts trip to Canada from a charity account, causing the trip to be cancelled. The trip was for 100 children and 27 volunteers from Herefordshire and Worcestershire, costing £2,750 per child. A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft.

Scout leaders believe money was taken over an extended period from a trip-specific bank account. Parents have been promised refunds, though it could take several weeks. In Italy, Anthony Moss had $20,000 worth of valuables stolen in a scam after collecting a hire car from Avis at Milan Airport.

A well-dressed man distracted Moss by pointing to a supposed tyre problem while a second thief stole his luggage from the car. Stolen items included a MacBook, iPad, Apple Watch, a Panerai watch, and about $2,000 in mixed currencies. Moss used AirTags and Apple's Find My system to track his belongings, leading to the recovery of his MacBook nearly a month later with police assistance.

Moss believes the thieves targeted him because of his premium luggage and that the operation was professional. In Sweden, a Stockholm-area station barrier guard reported a police officer who repeatedly used his police ID to pass without paying over two years. Three police officers and one woman employed by the Swedish Security Service (Säpo) have been charged with misconduct or minor fraud for using their IDs to ride for free.

The charged individuals used their police badges two to three times each from mid to late October, as captured by surveillance cameras. Two barrier guards testified that it is a 'common occurrence' for police officers to fare-dodge in their free time, especially at certain stations. All four deny the charges but admit to riding using their service cards.

In other cases, police in Rhuddlan, north Wales, arrested a man after stopping a Range Rover driven without a licence or insurance, which was later discovered to have been stolen that morning. The driver was arrested on suspicion of aggravated unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle, theft, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, and drug driving. The same man had been arrested the previous night for exactly the same offences in a different area.

The vehicle will be reunited with its owner. In Colorado, a woman named Fallon Frederick and her boyfriend Neo Gabrielsen, both 21, were arrested after a deputy saw her get into a stolen expensive sports car after she had been begging for money. The vehicle had been reported stolen under 'allegedly violent circumstances' from Washington County, Oregon.

A police K9 alerted to drugs, and paraphernalia testing positive for fentanyl was found in the vehicle. A diary found in the vehicle documented the couple's travels and how they took advantage of kind-hearted people by begging for money. The couple faces auto theft charges in Colorado and extradition to Oregon for criminal charges there.

The sheriff's office is working to return the sports car to its owner. In London, a Land Rover driver rammed an alleged machete-wielding thief on a stolen motorbike in a Brixton Sainsbury's car park. The suspected thief threatened the driver with a machete when confronted.

A 19-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of multiple offences including threats to kill, theft, and possession of an offensive weapon. The Land Rover driver contacted police and is helping with enquiries. In Ireland, gardai in Cork launched an investigation into a series of bike thefts from the Castlepark area.

Additional resources were committed in response to the thefts. On Sunday January 13th, gardai stopped and searched a vehicle in Castlepark Avenue, arresting the driver for road traffic offences. As a follow-up, gardai searched a house in Maple Square, Mallow, and seized five bicycles believed to be stolen.

Suspected cannabis and cocaine with an estimated value of €3,000 was also seized. Two men were arrested at the scene and detained at Mallow Garda Station, then released without charge; a file will be prepared for the DPP. In Vienna, an observant witness noticed individuals tinkering with tools on bicycles in a courtyard on the night of February 14.

The men left with two bicycles; alerted officers found two broken bicycle locks. Two suspects, aged 22 and 24, Serbian nationals, were apprehended in a nearby park. The suspects initially denied the crime but later confessed, stating they hid one bicycle in another building.

The hidden bicycle was secured and returned to its owner; the second bicycle was removed by an unknown third perpetrator. The two men were charged with suspected burglary theft; the 22-year-old was transferred to a correctional facility by order of the Vienna Public Prosecutor’s Office. In another Vienna case, two previously convicted bicycle thieves were found carrying a battery-powered angle grinder as a suspected burglary tool.

One suspect claimed to have stolen the bicycle shortly before from a bicycle storage room. The bicycle, tool, and substances were secured; one suspect was charged with riding a bicycle under the influence of drugs. Further investigations are being continued by the Vienna State Criminal Police Office due to suspicion of other unresolved bicycle thefts.

On 04/05/2026 in Vienna-Josefstadt, a 30-year-old man attempted to break into bicycles with a knife. A witness alerted police; officers arrested the man on the spot and found various burglary tools. Upon officers’ arrival, they observed two suspects bending over bicycles and attempting to cut a lock with a saw.

The two men, aged 37 and 44, were temporarily arrested; additional burglary tools were found in their backpack. In Sweden, on Wednesday, March 11, around lunchtime, a police patrol checked a small truck with foreign license plates parked at a rest area along highway 26 north of Smålandsstenar. In the cargo, a large amount of items suspected to be from various thefts and burglaries was found.

After a short surveillance, two men came to the truck and were arrested. The two men are foreign nationals and were detained by a prosecutor later the same day. , believed to have been taken from multiple locations.

In Gottsunda, multiple patrols were dispatched after a person reported that three people appeared to be stealing car parts from a parked car. The perpetrators left the scene by car after the reporter confronted them; during the confrontation, the driver allegedly tried to run over the reporter, who escaped uninjured. Patrols spotted the car after a few minutes and performed a vehicle stop.

Two men in their 35s and one man in his 55s were arrested and are suspected of theft; the 55-year-old is also suspected of attempted aggravated assault for trying to run over the reporter. All three are now detained. In Kristiansund, police went to Braatthallen after a report of theft and encountered two people nearby who they believe can be linked to the location.

A man in his 20s and a man in his 40s were arrested. Police found the individuals in a bus shelter near Braatthallen, along with a cart and a bag containing tools stolen from the hall. Police have secured video surveillance from the site linking the two men to the location, and a case is being opened.

In Grebo, in the early afternoon, several people entered a business and stole goods; most left by car, but one remained. The remaining person, a man in his 20s, was stopped by off-duty police who happened to be there and was suspected of petty theft. Later, a police patrol found and stopped the vehicle elsewhere; two men in it are suspected of illegal driving and drug-impaired driving.

In Bergen, on the night of Monday, police received a report of a break-in at an office in Vestre Skostredet; the premises were ransacked and several items missing. Using surveillance cameras, police identified two people who were arrested around 4-5 AM and taken into custody; one of the suspects admits to the offense. Police confirm that computer equipment and other equipment were stolen from the premises.

In Herøy, three local men in their 20s and 30s were arrested suspected of boat theft; the owner reported seeing the boat being driven away by three unknown men and alerted police. After a while, they returned and left the boat; the suspects were intoxicated. The suspects have been questioned and will be reported; the boat has been returned to the owner.
