  • Four men charged in kidnapping and death case
  • Heidi Sagen murder involves drug milieu and robbery

In Hønefoss, a 50-year-old woman was beaten and stabbed on a public street in June last year. The accused, her ex-husband, told the court he had observed her earlier, went home to get a wheel winder and a knife, and cycled after her. When she saw him, she tried to run, but he caught up and hit her.

Several witnesses filmed the attack, showing the man with a knife and wheel winder. A passerby tried to intervene, and the first officer on scene shot the accused in the thigh to gain control. The accused said he wanted to harm his ex-wife so she would leave Hønefoss, partly because he was no longer welcome in their Eritrean Orthodox congregation.

He had several restraining orders against her, and she received a violence alarm only eight days before the murder, which she did not activate. The prosecutor presented search history from his phone including 'murder' and 'homicide', but the accused said he does not remember those searches. He is also charged with attempted murder of the passerby, Gabriel Calderon Cohn, who held up a bicycle as a shield.

She was caring, a good mother, and my world.

Daughter of the murdered woman, Daughter

The accused claims Calderon is lying about a move toward his throat. A police officer with nearly 30 years of experience testified he shot a person for the first time after seeing the accused with weapons and the victim motionless. According to NRK Buskerud, the daughter of the murdered woman described her as caring, a good mother, and her world.

She said problems started after they came to Norway, and her father became threatening and said he would kill her mother. The mother was afraid and rarely went out. In a separate case, four men are in custody charged with kidnapping a man in his 30s and leaving him to die.

None admit guilt. According to the charge, the victim was taken from one address and died about a day later at another. One accused called the allegations 'bullshit' and complained about not receiving an explanation for his arrest.

I did not intentionally shoot the victim.

The court found suspicion strong enough to remand him for two weeks. Another accused, a man in his 40s, said he has no knowledge of the case and appealed his detention. A man in his 20s claimed he was in a drunk tank that night and could not be in two places at once.

In the Heidi Sagen murder case, a man in his 50s charged with aggravated robbery resulting in death stated he was not physically violent toward the 58-year-old victim. Police believe Sagen was taped, subjected to severe violence, and suffocated with a plastic bag. Three men are charged: a main perpetrator who admitted murder, robbery, and desecration of a corpse; another for complicity in robbery; and the man in his 50s.

He explained he thought they were going to get drugs and that the main perpetrator appeared unexpectedly. He bought work gloves at a gas station, claiming they were for cleaning, but a pair with his and Sagen's DNA was found in her living room. He witnessed the victim being taped and beaten but said he was shocked and did nothing.

The victim kicked my door when I returned from a gas station, leading to a scuffle.

DNA from the accused was found on Sagen's body. The prosecutor may seek preventive detention for two of the men, and the case involves a drug milieu and conflicts over narcotics. In the Jonas Aarseth Henriksen appeal, the 'Orderer' admitted to ordering vandalism and violence but not murder.

The defense argued that the many traces left suggest it was not planned. The Orderer obtained a firearm for shooting truck tires, and the 'Helper' said they decided to shoot tires instead of slashing them to avoid explosions. The Orderer bought the weapon later used to kill Jonas but claims it was only for tires.

The Helper admitted adapting the weapon with a silencer but also said it was for tires. Two weeks before the murder, the Helper and others tried to mount a tracking device on Jonas's car but failed. The Orderer and Helper were best friends for 20 years; the Helper made excuses to avoid violence.

I saw a knife-like object through the door peephole and retrieved my revolver to scare the victim.

In Østfold, a man in his 40s is charged with murdering his 66-year-old mother by running her over.

The prosecution believes it was intentional, but the accused claims it was an accident, thinking she had already gone inside. The indictment also includes theft of her car, driving under the influence, carrying weapons, and violating a restraining order. A video shows police at his residence hours before the incident.

The prosecutor says there is a discrepancy between events and his explanation. In Troms, a man in his 50s is in custody for the murder of 80-year-old Asbjørn Lanes at a care home. He entered Lanes' room and killed him with a knife, then called police himself.

The victim kicked my knee, causing the gun to discharge accidentally.

The court found evidence 'particularly strong' and believes there is a 'highly real danger' of new violent acts. He is detained at a psychiatric hospital and has consented to further detention.
