In 2020, it also emerged that politicians were considered to have received incorrect compensation and would become liable for repayment, but the decision was appealed to the administrative court, which overturned it, partly because it was contrary to the Municipal Act to demand retroactive repayments.
The final decision on how the municipality proceeds with any repayment claims is expected to be made at the municipal board meeting on April 14.
