The victim disappeared at Rönninge station during the night of December 26. A hammer and zip ties connected as handcuffs were found at the scene, according to multiple reports. Andersson has undergone a forensic psychiatric evaluation.
The evaluation, conducted by the Swedish National Board of Forensic Medicine (Rättsmedicinalverket), concluded that she does not suffer from a serious mental disorder, either currently or at the time of the murder. However, she has been diagnosed with pedophilia, which was established in 2019. Andersson has a long-term sexual interest in children.
In 2019, she was sentenced to two years and four months in prison for attempting to kidnap a 10-year-old girl. The forensic psychiatric evaluation states that Andersson has a relatively good psychosocial functioning ability. According to Rättsmedicinalverket, she worked full-time, owned a home that she maintained without complaint, had good finances, engaged in leisure activities, and had some social contacts.
Andersson seems to have partly lived a double life. Outwardly, she has been somewhat social and hardworking. Andersson had a good economy, worked full-time, owned a home, and played paintball weekly.
Police found a note where Andersson had written down plans for the murder, including that the victim should be a woman, her appearance, and that it should happen 'far away'. Earlier the same evening, she searched for a victim in another area, according to multiple reports. Andersson received several warnings in prison and claims she was mistreated.
According to Aftonbladet, Andersson described the prison stay as negative and that she was treated incorrectly. She also referred to a prison inspector as a 'damn hag', according to Aftonbladet. Andersson changed her name from Robin to Vilma and identifies as a woman since 2023, according to multiple reports.
The prosecution authority (Åklagarmyndigheten) stated that investigations are still ongoing, including a large number of technical examinations, collection of digital information, and continued interrogations with the suspect, all with the aim of clarifying the course of events and motive.
