McCarthy admitted two thefts from Tesco in Claughton and has previous convictions linked to vehicle interference, major media reported. The order also bans her from Vue Cinema in Birkenhead and a defined exclusion zone. She must not deliberately touch or attempt to enter any motor vehicle without consent, and must leave any shop if asked by staff.
The order was issued by Liverpool Magistrates' Court on 30 April. Breach could lead to arrest and imprisonment. Wirral Neighbourhood Inspector Nicola Hughes said theft from business is not victimless as costs are passed to consumers, and the order prevents further misery to businesses.
