Viktor Tuurala has been appointed as the new coach of AIK's hockey team. The 37-year-old previously coached Kalmar and reportedly left a club on the rise for a turbulent AIK. In an interview, Tuurala stated that his focus has been on this move since it emerged as an option.
He described his hockey beginnings, inspired by Finland's 1995 World Championship win, and his early interest in coaching, reportedly keeping notebooks of training ideas from his teenage years. Tuurala also spent six years as a college player in the USA, which influenced his leadership. AIK is reportedly making new investments on the coaching side with this appointment.
