Victoria Beckham has designed a new limited edition collection for Gap consisting of 38 pieces, according to multiple reports. The collection includes a 'perfect' white T-shirt and classic Gap logo hoodies reimagined with a Victoria Beckham logo. Items are priced from £25 to £250, with Capri jeans at £70 and a denim jacket at £95. Sizes range from XS to XXL. The collection will be available in stores and online starting this Friday, though some reports say it is available to shop online now as of April 24 at 9am. The collection includes a navy hoodie with Gap's arch logo and Beckham's branding, as well as capri pants, a nod to the style popularised by Sarah Jessica Parker in a 2004 Gap advert.
Beckham said in a statement: 'To me, Gap is an all-American icon – a brand that has always created timeless pieces for everybody’s wardrobe, with a sharp attention to detail. Bringing my design perspective to those everyday essentials and working with a team that shares that same commitment to craftsmanship and execution has made this collaboration incredibly special.' According to the Sunday Times, Beckham said her daughter Harper will love the collection. Sharing a logo with Gap is reportedly a 'pinch me moment' for Beckham.
Harper is going to love my Gap collection.
The collaboration is part of Gap's strategy to pivot to more premium fashion under CEO Richard Dickson. Gap previously collaborated with smaller brands like Cult Gaia and introduced GapStudio overseen by Zac Posen.
Separately, Brooklyn Beckham has accused his parents of controlling narratives and prioritizing 'Brand Beckham' over family, according to multiple reports. In a social media post, he wrote: 'For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.' He added: 'My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else. "Brand Beckham" comes first. Family "love" is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it's at the expense of our professional obligations.' According to The Independent - Health, Brooklyn Beckham has no plans to reconcile with his parents. It is unclear how the Beckham family has responded to these claims.
She loves nothing more than shopping on the high street. She’s going to love the Gap collection when she gets her hands on it.
