Växjö municipality wants to build a new ice hall at Hovshaga in Sweden. The location is proposed to be on Kungsgårdsvägen opposite the gas station at Hovshaga, where there is currently 15,000 square meters of forest. The reason for the new hall is that the area has a large catchment area and good communications.

Växjö currently has three ice surfaces at Arenastaden, but politicians in the culture and leisure committee say more are needed. They have received requests from associations, schools, and the public about a lack of ice surfaces, something Smålandsposten was first to report. The new ice hall is expected to cost around 55 million kronor and be ready in 2029.
