Several residential areas in Skellefteå, Sweden, have been without water recently. The thin snow cover this year has caused pipes to freeze and break in the cold. Since early February, the municipality has sent out messages about seven residential areas in Skellefteå that have lost water due to frozen water pipes.
The number of frozen pipes that need to be thawed is notable this year. On Friday, road 95 in central Skellefteå was closed due to a water leak. In Skelleftehamn, residents in apartments on Bogatan have been without water since Thursday.
