Spring is reportedly only days away in Luleå and parts of Norrbotten County, Sweden, if the warm forecast continues. According to unconfirmed reports, the cold period has ended and warmth has taken over significantly. There is reportedly little snow in the Luleå archipelago but substantial ice that is melting rapidly and accumulating much water on top.
Max Schildt, a meteorologist at SMHI, reportedly says this is early, even a month earlier than normal. Piteå is reportedly just over a day away from confirming meteorological spring, which requires seven consecutive days with an average daily temperature above zero degrees Celsius. Luleå has also had days with spring temperatures, and SMHI's forecast for the coming days reportedly shows mostly plus temperatures, opening the possibility for spring to arrive in Luleå as well.
