Ticket prices for the Valborg celebrations at the Snerikes and Stocken student nations in Uppsala have nearly doubled over the past ten years. The increase comes as student financial aid from CSN has not risen at the same rate. Valborg is part of a three-day spring celebration among Uppsala students, with events including a classic champagne gallop.
Recently released tickets are highly sought after, with students braving cold and rain for hours to secure them or turning to the secondary market. Even at regular prices, celebrants must spend more than before.
