SVT Västerbotten reports that social media announcements for Walpurgis Night celebrations in Skellefteå have been met with disappointment as bonfire timings overlap with a Skellefteå AIK hockey playoff game, leading some local groups to adjust their schedules.

According to SVT Västerbotten, the Church of Sweden’s nine Valborg events have been promoted via social media, and the most common initial comment is 'When is the bonfire lit?', often followed by a dismayed reply that it falls right during the hockey game. The Church has not synced its celebrations with the match, the same outlet notes.

The Innervik village association has moved its bonfire to an earlier time to avoid the hockey clash, according to SVT Västerbotten.

In Bergsbyn, the bonfire is lit at 6:30 p.m. and the children’s choir sings in the church at 7 p.m., directly overlapping with the hockey face-off, according to SVT Västerbotten.

A Skellefteå AIK spokesperson says the team has three regular-season games remaining. The club is preparing for the upcoming playoffs, but it remains unclear whether they will play an eighth-final or quarter-final.

Skellefteå AIK says a 'Slutspelskortet' playoff card guarantees entry to all home playoff matches, with purchasers choosing between seated and standing places.

Seated tickets cost 2,700 kronor and standing places cost 1,500 kronor for adults, with a youth standing option at 500 kronor, according to Skellefteå AIK.

According to published schedules, at Prästbordet, a Valborg celebration organized by the Swedish Church begins with a church service at 5 p.m. and the bonfire lit at 6 p.m., including spring speeches, songs, and food and drink for sale. At Anderstorps kyrka, the event starts at 6 p.m. with the bonfire lit at 6:30 p.m. and a music café. At Mobackenkyrkan, the celebration starts at 7 p.m. with a bonfire, spring speeches, songs, a quiz, refreshments for sale, and the opportunity to grill sausages.

At Sandfors bönhus, a Valborg celebration starts at 7 p.m. with spring songs, according to the local community.

At Uttersjön, a Valborg bonfire is lit at 7:30 p.m. by Uttersjöns byaförening, according to the association.

At Bureå, a Valborg bonfire is lit at 7:30 p.m. at Myggvalla, organized by Bureå IF, with spring speeches and songs at Café Träffpunkten at 6 p.m., hamburgers for sale, and a fire truck display, according to Bureå IF.
