The falukorv factory in Vaggeryd got a new owner in November 2025 when the Gothenburg company Härryda Karlsson korv took over, according to multiple reports. Sources with insight into the factory claim that Vaggeryds chark no longer uses beef in the falukorv, even though it is still stated on the label. The company's CEO denies the allegations and says the proportion of pork and beef can vary, but the sausage always contains beef.
The CEO also said they use a thicker casing because the previous one broke during production, and does not think the sausage tastes different today than before.
I have loved Vaggeryd's falukorv as long as I can remember, but it hasn't tasted as good the last few times.
