A preliminary investigation into suspected human trafficking and money laundering offenses, including against two berry company owners, has been dropped after a raid in Herrskog in the High Coast region in early autumn. The Swedish Prosecution Authority states that the crimes cannot be proven. The case file at the Ångermanland District Court is extensive, involving a total of 13 Thai berry pickers as plaintiffs and eight people served with suspicion of crimes, including two berry company owners from southern Sweden who were detained for over four months before being released in mid-February.
The suspicions have gradually been written off, and it is now clear that the case will not be tried in court. The Thai berry pickers left Sweden in the winter.
