An investigation into suspected poisonings at Akademiska Hospital in Uppsala has been closed, according to the Swedish Prosecution Authority. Four employees at the same department at the hospital fell ill, and police suspected they had been poisoned. A colleague who was a suspect was released from custody in December.
Prosecutor Emma Häggström stated in a press release that the preliminary investigation has been dropped because it cannot be proven that the person who was suspected committed the crime. Häggström said further investigative measures are not expected to change the evidence.
