Uppsala procurement satisfaction rises above national average
Key Points
  • Uppsala's procurement satisfaction index rose to 65, above the national average of 64.
  • All service areas improved year-on-year, but land allocation and food control fell below national averages.
  • Long-term NKI trend shows improvement from 61 in 2012 to 75 in the latest measurement.

The NUI (Satisfied Procurement Index) increased from 60 to 65, placing Uppsala above the national average of 64, the municipality reported. All service areas within procurement improved compared to the previous year, and five out of six areas are above the Swedish average. Uppsala remains above the national average in total NKI and in all six service areas.

Despite the overall improvement, there is a slight decline in NKI compared to the previous year. Reception and legal certainty remain among the strongest areas, while fire supervision and serving permits stay at high levels. Building permits are above the national average. However, land allocation dropped from 78 to 74 and is now below the national average, and food control is slightly below the national level.

In the long term, Uppsala has improved its NKI from 61 in 2012 to 75 in this year's measurement. Helena Sköld Lövgren, Procurement Manager, said the municipality has worked actively to strengthen dialogue with companies through industry councils and information efforts. Erik Pelling, Chairman of the Municipal Council, noted that while the result is positive, continued development is needed. Charlotte Skott, Business Director, emphasized the need to catch problems earlier and improve dialogue.
