The association creates a living meeting place and strengthens cultural heritage and nature through author evenings, lectures, music performances, and guided excursions. It also works to digitize local historical material and collaborates with Storvreta Library and other actors. Its main area of activity includes Storvreta urban area and several villages.
A total of fourteen nominations were received for the award, collected via an open web form and through various partners. Other nominees included Marcus Martinsson, Isgruppen i Länna, Kafé Bredsjön, and Oxsätra Åkerlänna Utveckling AB. According to the municipality, the award is given annually through an open nomination process to an actor who has contributed to rural development in line with the municipality's rural program.
