The municipality of Upplands-Bro in Sweden has decided to conduct new independent tests on a noise barrier following an investigation by public broadcaster SVT. The technical committee, led by Andreas Åström (M), has been tasked with ordering the new third-party expert analysis. Fredrik Kjos (M), chair of the municipal executive board, stated in an email to SVT that the building and environment committee and technical committee are urged to turn over every stone in Brunnavallen until the absolute truth is found.

Andreas Åström, who previously submitted the citizen proposal to build the barrier and was project manager at ABT Bolagen, which donated the barrier to the municipality, is involved in the process. Kjos emphasized that all members in committees and boards have a personal responsibility to declare any conflicts of interest. SVT has sought comment from Andreas Åström.
