An unusually social fox has moved into a residential area in Heby, following dogs and approaching children at a sledding hill, according to local sources. Heby resident Andreas Ivansson described the animal, saying, 'It is like a dog. Comes up to you and it almost feels like it wants to play.
' While it is not unusual for foxes to move in built-up areas, what stands out with this fox is its behavior. Many videos of the intrusive fox are circulating on social media, and Sala Allehanda was the first to report on its activities. ' Some have requested protective hunting of the fox, but the municipality has not decided on protective hunting in this case.
It has moved into a residential area here.
Winnersjö-Edholm explained, 'The municipality's mandate when it comes to protective hunting is to handle sick animals that risk infecting humans, and that is not the case here. ' She believes the problem will resolve itself over time, noting, 'As it gets older, I believe the forest will attract it more. ' It remains unknown how long the fox has been exhibiting this unusual social behavior in Heby or whether there have been any incidents of aggression or harm caused by the fox to people or pets.
It is like a dog. Comes up to you and it almost feels like it wants to play. If you scare it, it runs only a short distance and then comes right back.
