A 20-year-old apprentice is gaining hands-on experience in dental care through a new apprenticeship program in Luleå, according to Region Norrbotten. Molly Strömbäck, who began her apprenticeship at Tandvårdens kompetenscentrum in late August, is participating in Folktandvården's newly launched apprenticeship program.
Strömbäck, who previously studied social sciences at ski gymnasiums in Tärnaby and Arvidsjaur, returned to Luleå last spring. She expressed enthusiasm for the program, stating, 'I've learned a lot about oral health and how a clinic works. If you have the slightest interest in dental care, I think you should apply to the apprenticeship program.'

The apprentice became interested in dental professions after being a patient herself at orthodontic treatment. She now wants to train as either a dental hygienist or dental nurse, noting that both educations are available from Luleå and are in-demand professions with good job prospects.
At Tandvårdens kompetenscentrum in Norra Hamn, specialized dental care is concentrated, serving children, youth, and adults with referrals from dentists, doctors, and other healthcare providers. Strömbäck has gained insight into all specialties during her apprenticeship, including prosthetics and other dental fields.
