Umeå municipality has filed a police report regarding repeated acts of vandalism at Kinabron bridge at Nydalasjön, according to public broadcaster SVT Västerbotten. The vandalism, which has occurred on multiple occasions, involves boards being kicked off and broken from the bridge's railings. At one instance, an axe was reportedly used, according to the municipality.
Peter Wilhelmsson Frii from Umeå municipality's Streets and Parks department stated that the damage represents a particular danger to children due to missing fall protection. 'It costs not only money and resources but also represents a danger, especially for children, as fall protection is missing,' said Frii.
