Two employees at a forensic psychiatric clinic in Växjö have been fired after being suspended since last autumn. They are under investigation for allegedly conducting illegal surveillance of patients. The information was confirmed by Lina Tibbelin, acting HR chief at Region Kronoberg, according to reports.
Following an external investigation, the two were reported to police at the end of 2025. The investigation found deficiencies in compliance with laws, guidelines, and routines. The employees are said to have restricted patients' constitutionally protected rights and made purchases and procurements in inappropriate and possibly illegal ways.
