Research by Hyundai Motor UK found that educational excursions can boost children's attention by 80%. A separate study by Dr Martha Newson, a behavioural scientist at the University of Greenwich, tracked over 100 children and recorded a 71% rise in excitement and a 40% increase in self-esteem on trip days compared to ordinary school days. “We measured how the same children felt and behaved on a normal school day versus a school trip day,” Dr Newson said.
” The study also showed that 93% of teachers believe school trips should offer new experiences. The exact methodology and sample sizes behind the figures have not been disclosed.
