Key Points
  • Two underage girls on an electric scooter collided with a taxi in Bergen, with one initially critically injured but later less serious.
  • Multiple electric scooter accidents reported across Sweden, including collisions with pedestrians, cars, and a wall.
  • Other incidents include a scooter-bicycle collision on campus, a scooter-car accident in Trondheim, and an unconscious rider in Bærum.

Police said the girls lost control of the scooter just before entering an intersection and hit the rear part of a taxi. The taxi driver's license was not confiscated, and the incident is being investigated as reckless driving. A series of electric scooter accidents have been reported across Sweden.

In Linköping, a scooter rider hit two pedestrians, an elderly man and an elderly woman, causing them to fall and sustain injuries. The rider, a man in his 20s, is suspected of reckless driving and causing bodily harm. According to official sources, he was taken into custody under the Act on Care of Intoxicants.

In Angered, a man on an electric scooter was hit by a car at a crosswalk at Angeredsvinkeln. Official sources said the scooter rider, a woman in her 20s, was not seriously injured but was taken to hospital by ambulance. In Uppsala, a boy on an electric scooter was hit by a car, according to official sources.

In Örebro, major media reported that a girl in her early teens was taken to hospital by ambulance after a moped and electric scooter collided on Norr. Christina Hallin, a police spokesperson, said two girls were riding the scooter that collided with the moped, and the girl on the scooter was taken to hospital with unclear injuries. In Stockholm, two teenagers on a rental scooter crashed into a wall, according to major media.

An SVT reporter said they tried to brake downhill but failed and hit an apartment building, breaking a basement window. Both were taken to hospital by ambulance, awake and able to speak, but their injury status was unclear. Other incidents include a collision between a bicycle and an electric scooter on a campus area, reported by official sources.

In Trondheim, an accident involving an electric scooter and a car occurred in a roundabout at Lade Allé, according to three major media sources. Carina Hollås, operations leader, said the hit person was not unconscious and could speak, but the extent of injuries is unknown. She also said the scooter rider fled the scene.

In Bærum, police reported that an electric scooter rider is unconscious and emergency services are en route. Internationally, major media reported that Italian authorities ordered the evacuation of about 3,500 residents in Tuscany's mountain areas due to wildfires, and France sent help to extinguish wildfires in the Netherlands. There is a contradiction in the reported severity of injuries for one girl in the Bergen crash: police initially described her as critically injured but later said the injuries are less serious.

The current condition of that girl remains unknown, as do the extent of injuries for the person hit in Trondheim, the condition of the unconscious rider in Bærum, and the injury status of the two teenagers in Stockholm.
