A family in Eskilstuna, Sweden, was subjected to both kidnapping and extortion. The extortion occurred from October 2025 to January of this year, and during the same period, one family member was kidnapped. Prosecutor Tobias Lindblom suspects that two men in their 20s are behind the extortion.
He declined to comment on how much money or property the perpetrators obtained. According to Lindblom, the suspects were arrested in a planned operation at the end of February. Two days later, the men were detained by the Eskilstuna District Court on probable grounds suspected of aggravated extortion.
One of the men is also suspected of kidnapping.
