Swedish broadcaster TV4 is overhauling its election coverage for the 2026 parliamentary elections with a new format and unconventional hosting lineup. According to TV4 Nyheterna, popular YouTuber and influencer Emil Hansius will co-host the network's election coverage alongside journalists Jenny Strömstedt and political reporter Ann Tiberg. The new format, called "Valutfrågningen," will feature in-depth interviews with party leaders lasting up to three hours each, with premieres scheduled for August 2026 ahead of September's elections.
" TV4's program director for news and society, Viveka Hansson, explained the network aims to focus more on political dialogue rather than confrontation, with particular emphasis on reaching younger voters. The broadcaster plans additional election programming including a nationwide tour, party leader discussions, and a final debate between candidates.
