A driving school in Piteå has lost its operating license after the Administrative Court in Falun upheld the Swedish Transport Agency's decision to revoke its permit. According to reports, the Transport Agency determined the school had serious deficiencies in ensuring high-quality driver education and traffic safety.
The court rejected the driving school's appeal, finding that serious deficiencies had not been adequately addressed. The Transport Agency had conducted an inspection in autumn 2024 that revealed the school had been operating heavy vehicle training for several years without having an approved education leader with proper qualifications.
the traffic school has for a long time violated the requirements and the deficiencies are assessed as serious.
Mikael Rodemar, section chief at the Transport Agency, stated that 'the traffic school has for a long time violated the requirements and the deficiencies are assessed as serious.' Despite lacking proper qualifications, the school reportedly booked over 100 driving tests for trucks and buses through the Swedish Transport Administration.
The driving school claimed in its statement to the authority that it was unaware of the rules and had planned to address the deficiencies, including recruiting staff with proper competence. However, both the Transport Agency and the Administrative Court determined these measures were insufficient, leading to the license revocation.
