The Tjörn Bridge was closed in both directions on Wednesday evening following a bomb threat, according to police reports. The incident began around 10:00 PM when police received a call from a man who made concrete threats, leading to the complete closure of the bridge. Morten Gunneng, the duty officer at Police Region West, confirmed the closure, stating authorities were investigating the scene and securing the area.
The suspect, described as a man in his 20s, reportedly called SOS Alarm himself with the bomb threat. Police later arrested the man at an address in Stenungsund. He is suspected of unlawful threats against a group, though police indicate additional charges may follow.
