According to sources, the new arena for Tingsryds AIF collapsed in February. The collapse occurred on February 8th. The work has been redirected after the collapse.
The arena is now expected to be completed on time. The arena is scheduled to be ready by November 15th. According to Patrik Åkesson (KD), the financier, before the incident, they were ahead of schedule by about a month.
He stated that they lost that time due to the collapse. He also said they are waiting for the roof trusses to be delivered. The cause of the collapse has not been determined.
Patrik Åkesson explained that they are changing the production order, building changing rooms, restaurant parts, and gym earlier instead. He noted that Tingsryds AIF will start playing in the old ice hall next season. He added that if they finish by November 15th, it will make no difference.
It is unknown when the roof trusses will be delivered.
