Tim Lovejoy apologises for swearing on Sunday Brunch
Key Points
  • Tim Lovejoy apologised for swearing and announced a shorter show with fewer guests.
  • Alex Iwobi was absent; guests included Ruel, Kevin Olusola, Alex Fletcher, and Nick Pickard.
  • The show ended early due to the Women's FA Cup semi-final.

The May 10 edition of the Channel 4 programme featured a shake-up to the running order, with Lovejoy revealing that fewer guests than normal would appear and the show would finish at 12pm instead of the usual 1pm. The early finish was due to the Women's FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Brighton airing live at 12.15pm.

Advertised guest Alex Iwobi, a Premier League footballer for Fulham, was absent from the studio. Confirmed guests included Australian singer-songwriter Ruel, Pentatonix beatboxer Kevin Olusola, and Hollyoaks actors Alex Fletcher and Nick Pickard.

Liverpool, obviously.

Simon Rimmer, TV chef and co-host

Ruel, who is on a nationwide UK tour, disclosed that he has Dutch heritage and his full name is Ruel van Dijk. Lovejoy suggested Ruel could line up at center. Kevin Olusola recalled meeting Seal during a previous visit to the show. Fletcher and Pickard are known for their long-standing roles on Hollyoaks.

According to Daily Express - Showbiz, Lovejoy supported Brighton by shouting 'Go Seagulls!', while co-host Simon Rimmer supported Liverpool.
