Former YouTube influencer Pontus Rasmusson is appealing his one-year prison sentence for serious accounting fraud, according to Swedish media reports. Rasmusson was recently sentenced in district court to one year in prison and a three-year business ban for two counts of serious accounting fraud. He was also convicted for obstructing tax control and ordered to pay a 50,000 kronor corporate fine.
The former content creator, who was once one of Sweden's largest YouTubers targeting children, had his channel shut down by Google in 2022. According to Google, Rasmusson violated the platform's child safety policy, which prohibits content that sexualizes minors. Rasmusson has now chosen to appeal the prison sentence to a higher court, seeking to avoid incarceration.
