Three brothers have been found guilty of sexually abusing multiple victims in Sheffield, with convictions coming 18 years after the crimes occurred. Amar Ilyas, 41, led the siblings in a series of sexual offences and rapes across the city. He was known as 'Killer' to the victims and used a gun and threats of gang rape to coerce them.

Kamran Ilyas, 38, and Kamar Ilyas, 39, both of Sheffield, were found guilty of five sexual offences against one girl their brother had raped. In 2018, officers contacted a woman from Rotherham identified as a possible victim. She told police she was groomed and raped by Kamar, then sexually abused by Amar and Kamran between 2004 and 2008, starting when she was 12.

Kamar introduced her to Amar, who raped her weekly for three years in various locations, gave her a cigarette laced with crack cocaine, and showed her a handgun. During this time, she was also sexually abused by Kamran at a playground. Officers identified four other women sexually abused by Amar.

One said Amar tried to rape her at age 13, another reported being raped by him at around 13 after he encouraged her to drink and take drugs, and a fourth was raped at around 18 after he stopped her near a park. The evidence leading to the convictions has not been detailed.
