According to the Swiss National Bank, the winning design is Concept J by Emphase GmbH, a studio founded by Fabienne Kilchör and Sébastien Fasel. The theme 'Switzerland and its altitudes' focuses on Switzerland's unique topography from the Jura to the Alps, aiming to reflect the diverse life at different altitudes. The banknotes show plants at a 1:1 scale and various references to the country's topography.
Felix Pfäffli, founder of design studio Feixen, said, 'I am very pleased that this concept was chosen. ' He added, 'It radiates a certain neutrality without being boring. ' Zagorowski favored Concept L but is satisfied with the winning Concept J.
The other competing concepts, such as Concept K and Concept L, and how they differed from Concept J have not been detailed. In a 20 Minuten community poll, Concept K was the clear favorite among readers. Some Zurich pedestrians find the new banknotes beautiful and Swiss, while some Zurich pedestrians already miss the old banknotes.
Foreigners compare the new banknotes to other currencies and appreciate that no famous personalities are depicted.
