In Vilske-Kleva, a village outside Falköping, Sweden, residents have started considering whether the local heritage site could serve as a gathering place for the village's inhabitants during severe civil crises or, in the worst case, war. The village has over 300 inhabitants. Much of the civil defense and population protection is located in cities, but in many places, those living in rural areas also want to strengthen crisis preparedness.
The Civil Defense Agency has no specific advice for rural preparedness and refers to the general guidelines that apply primarily to urban areas.
