A conference titled 'Kraftsamling Transportinfrastruktur' was held on April 20, 2026, in Falun, focusing on transport infrastructure in northern central Sweden and its role in innovation, green transition, and Swedish exports. It was organized jointly by Region Dalarna, Region Gävleborg, Mellansvenska Handelskammaren, and Infram. The conference aimed at businesses, politicians, municipalities, and other actors, with participation from business representatives including Hitachi Energy, SSAB, Ovako, Valbo Trä, Gävle Hamn, Spendrups, Nordic Iron Ore, and Vasaloppet.

Other participants included Trafikverket, Transportstyrelsen, SJ, Försvarsmakten, Myndigheten för civilt försvar, Länsstyrelserna Dalarna and Gävleborg, Högskolan Dalarna, Green Cargo, and Skogsindustrierna, as well as national and regional politicians from Dalarna and Gävleborg. Separately, leaders from Europe's public transport authorities gathered in Stockholm from April 15–17 for the annual meeting of EMTA (European Metropolitan Transport Authorities). The meeting focused on how public transport can become more reliable and develop with new technology and future travel, with key topics including clearer governance, better-designed traffic agreements, autonomous solutions, and integrating new mobility services with public transport.

Stockholm was highlighted as one of Europe's leading public transport regions, with an extensive network and high ridership.
