In Sölvesborg, Sweden, a stove company has welded together over 8,000 stoves for Ukrainian households that have lost their electricity, according to a report from SVT Nyheter. An additional 250 stoves are currently in production.
The initiative, which began approximately three years ago, has received support from multiple Lions organizations across Sweden. The stoves are intended to facilitate cooking and provide warmth to Ukrainian families whose homes have been damaged by bombing and power outages.
For me, it's very important. I work almost full-time with Ukraine.
Bert Norlin, a key figure in the project, told SVT Nyheter: 'For me, it's very important. I work almost full-time with Ukraine.' Norlin got the idea after reading in a newspaper about a company in Göinge that collected money and forged stoves.
'They are sent to the eastern side, to the little person who can't manage when they bomb their houses,' Norlin said about the stove distribution.

The Sölvesborg-based company's contribution represents one of many ways Swedish Lions organizations have supported Ukraine during the ongoing conflict.
