A new association building near the football hall at Sörby IP in Gävle is set to open on May 1, 2026. The building will serve as a safe meeting place for children, youth, leaders, and parents, with upgrades also including refreshed changing rooms, more storage, and an improved outdoor environment. Outdoor safety improvements feature new asphalt, bicycle racks, and increased lighting to enhance safety for children and youth traveling to and from the facility.

The project is driven by Gavlefastigheter AB and started in August last year. Gefle IF is the largest user of the football hall at Sörby IP, with about 950 children and youth aged 5-18 and 150 leaders using it year-round. The new meeting room includes a café section where associations can sell fika and create a pleasant environment for parents during training and matches.

The Football Lift project, which includes this work, also involves new artificial turf on football fields at Måsberget, Valbo Sportcentrum, and Hille IP. Bjästahallen in Örnsköldsviks kommun, built in 1970, is assessed to be in the best condition among the six ice halls in the municipality, but it currently does not meet the requirements set by ice hockey and figure skating associations. 8 million kronor, exceeding the budget by 12 million kronor.

Associations using Bjästahallen have long desired more and upgraded changing rooms and to avoid going outdoors from changing rooms to access the ice hall. Planned upgrades for Bjästahallen include an extension connecting to the existing changing building, a corridor to the ice hall, two new changing rooms, a new referee room with separate shower facilities for men and women, and a new laundry room. Additional improvements involve a new leader room, more necessary corridor space, installation of shell protection on new entrance doors with a tag system, and shell protection zones for changing rooms and storage.

Moving current storage from the ice hall to keep it locked when not in use is also part of the plan. Municipal projects are underway across Sweden, with the existing playground in Västerås being renovated with all play equipment replaced and a new activity area created on the grass field. This project is carried out in two stages during 2026 and 2027.

In Uppsala, many artificial turf fields will be renovated or replaced during spring, summer, and autumn, with some completely new ones being added. Linköping municipality is investing nearly 11 million kronor to upgrade the area around Berga Castle, including the youth facility Ung Zon. Sigtuna municipality proposes a new sports arena next to Vikingahallen in Märsta, with a cost of 140 million kronor.

Ongoing plans to develop Saab Arena in Linköping include expanding the foyer for a new concert stage and more mingling space. Himmelstalundshallen in Norrköping is undergoing roof renovation with a budget of 11 million kronor, expected to be completed by late August or early September 2026. Kvarndammen in Valdemarsvik is being rebuilt as a collaborative project to improve safety and aesthetics, creating about 100 meters of new structure.

A new table tennis hall three times larger than the current one will be built on Berga in Eslöv, with custom-designed spaces. Vasahallen in Linköping is undergoing a total renovation, with the large A-hall already opened and smaller halls to be completed by the next school year. Uppsala municipality plans to upgrade Gottsunda Kulturhus, expanding it from about 3,000 to over 5,500 square meters through renovations and extensions.

'Our Heroes' Wall' is a way to show gratitude and ensure contributions are never forgotten, serving as history and inspiration for the future.

All visitors will be subjected to security checks before entering SCA Arena for matches, and there is a bag ban with exceptions only for necessary medical bags and diaper bags, which will be checked. Bottles, cans, or other containers that may contain liquids are not allowed to be brought into SCA Arena, and refusing security checks can lead to denial of entry despite having a valid ticket. It is recommended to arrive at the arena about 40 minutes before puck drop, with earlier arrival possible when gates open.

SCA Arena has kiosks on both long sides, in the western corner, and in the main entrance on the eastern side serving sausages, coffee, soda, and snacks. A hamburger kiosk in the northwestern corner behind the standing section serves burgers, drinks, and other treats, while Anton Lander Café behind the western standing section offers kiosk food, drinks, snacks, and activities for children. The arena's restaurant is located above the main entrance, serves food before matches and drinks during breaks, and requires pre-booking.

A bar behind the western standing section and a pub in the main entrance are available for purchasing drinks. Hockey buses are available from Härnösand and Sundsvall, and from Ånge for weekend matches, to reduce traffic flow to SCA Arena. Parking is free for matches thanks to match host LF Västernorrland, but parking attendants' instructions must be followed, and an elevator exists at the entrance to the loge level for accessibility.

The arena's expansion includes splitting existing match host loges into two, building a new match host loge at loge level height, and extending the balcony level with two loges above it. The total number of loges will increase by four, bringing SCA Arena to 21 loges, with construction expected to be completed by the start of the SHL season. Sections A-right and A-left above the wheelchair stand are affected by the construction, and the new official spectator capacity is estimated to be 5,727 people.

The premiere of 'Our Heroes' Wall' will be on March 5th when Timrå IK hosts Brynäs IF, with Timrå legend Inge Hammarström performing a ceremonial puck drop. The wall honors the biggest profiles in Timrå IK's history, including players, leaders, and passionate supporters, with selection based on a specially developed points system weighing achievements over time, both sporting merits and significance off the ice. There will be space for 90 portraits on the wall.

Thord Johansson, with a long history in the club, led the work on the history walk and 'Our Heroes' Wall'. Timrå IK lost heavily in Luleå yesterday and now looks ahead to the next challenge against HV71, with puck drop tomorrow at 15:15 in SCA Arena. HV71 is in 13th place, desperately chasing safe ground in the table, three points plus goal difference behind Örebro which holds the last safe spot.

HV71 has defensive troubles, conceding the most goals in the league and having the second weakest penalty kill, while Timrå IK and HV71 are equal in both power play and penalty kill and have drawn exactly the same number of penalty minutes during the season. 50/50 lottery tickets are available for tomorrow's match, with proceeds supporting youth activities, and a new prize includes a Tele2 subscription worth 5,600 SEK. Volunteers are being sought for the upcoming SHL season to represent Timrå IK through service and security, contributing to a safe environment in the arena.

Applicants must be over 18 years old, with an information meeting on Tuesday, September 3rd at 18:00 at SCA Arena, and registration by September 1st to a specified email address. ON Arena, and Sydkraft Arena, is Timrå IK's home arena. In addition to being Timrå IK's home arena, there is an arena restaurant serving lunch every weekday and dinner on match days.

From the balcony at SCA Arena, you have a unique overview of the entire rink while being able to eat and drink at your table during the match. Booking a table on the balcony is recommended in advance as these are sought-after spots.
