A Swedish Sea Rescue Society crew from Piteå and Luleå rescued three people when the boat Ron Jeremy sank in the archipelago between the two cities on June 1, 2026, according to local media reports. The rescue team, including Felicia Molarin, 25, and Ulf Martinsson, 60, responded to a mayday call early in the morning and managed to save three individuals from the sinking vessel. The crew members are now reportedly being considered for the Swedish Sea Rescue Society's 'Rescuer of the Year 2025' award for their efforts.
' The rescue team was alerted by their pagers and had to reach their rescue boat, Rescue Albert Isaksson, in Renö harbor within fifteen minutes of receiving the emergency call.
It's unfortunate that one person remained out there, but we tried to focus on the fact that we actually saved three.
