Martin Ström in Karlstad, Sweden, started with five chickens for his own egg consumption but now has about a hundred chickens and fifty chicks after four years. He breeds five different chicken breeds to create eggs with various colors through crossbreeding. Ström, who calls himself a chicken nerd, says the eggs are the most fun part, with two or three base colors that can be mixed.
He has also noticed increased interest in chicken breeding in Sweden, particularly in Facebook groups, with many people finding it enjoyable.
