The Swedish Justice Chancellor (Justitiekanslern) has reportedly opened a preliminary investigation against the website Dumpen for alleged hate speech against a minority group. According to reports from the magazine Paragraf cited by Aftonbladet, the investigation concerns a reader comment about homosexuals that contained derogatory formulations.

The comment in question had reportedly been posted on the website for more than a year before the investigation began. Multiple comments were reportedly reported to the Justice Chancellor, who chose to proceed with one of them.

We have now taken down the entire comment function so it's no longer possible to comment at all. We should not be held responsible for idiots who cannot behave.

Sara Nilsson, responsible publisher of Dumpen

Dumpen, described as a pedophile-hunting website, has been informed that it has two weeks to remove the comment or the case will proceed further. Sara Nilsson, the website's responsible publisher, stated that the comment does not represent Dumpen's views.

In response to the investigation, Nilsson told Paragraf that the website has now removed the entire comment function. 'We have now taken down the entire comment function so it's no longer possible to comment at all. We should not be held responsible for idiots who cannot behave,' she said.
