According to reports from Swedish media, chaos has erupted at Iran's notorious Evin Prison where Swedish-Iranian researcher Ahmadreza Djalali remains imprisoned. The prison's leadership has reportedly collapsed, with guards having evacuated and locked doors behind them, leaving prisoners including Djalali trapped inside. Djalali's wife, Vida Mehrannia, managed to contact her husband by phone on Tuesday after days of concern.

She described a situation of "panic, stress and anxiety" among prisoners who hear explosions around the prison facility. Most guards have reportedly left their posts, and shops within the prison where inmates normally buy food are closed.
