Swedish-Iranian actor and screenwriter Said Oveissi has died at the age of 82, according to SVT Kultur. He was born in Tehran in 1943 and fled Iran in the early 1990s after writing and directing a play critical of the regime. Oveissi won a Guldbagge award for best supporting actor in the 2000 film "Vingar av glas," where he played Abbas, an Iranian father trying to prevent his daughter from meeting her Swedish boyfriend.
