  • Swedish housing prices rose 1.7% in March 2026 compared to February, according to SBAB Booli's monthly index.
  • House prices increased significantly more than apartment prices, according to SBAB chief economist Robert Boije.
  • The Middle East conflict has not yet significantly impacted the housing market, but rising interest rates could weaken future price growth.

Swedish housing prices continued their upward trend in March 2026, with house prices rising significantly more than apartment prices, according to the latest data from SBAB Booli's monthly housing index. Prices for residential properties increased by 1.7 percent in March compared to February across the entire country. However, when adjusted for normal seasonal patterns, the increase was a more modest 0.3 percent.

Robert Boije, chief economist at SBAB, noted in a written comment that 'house prices rose considerably more than apartment prices.' He added that the conflict in the Middle East has so far not had any significant negative impact on the housing market. However, Boije cautioned that if inflation and interest rates continue to rise, which they have already partially done, housing prices could develop much weaker going forward.

The data suggests that despite global uncertainties, the Swedish housing market remains resilient in the short term, though economists warn that rising interest rates could dampen future price growth.
