Sweden's emergency response app, 112, is being updated to help users locate the nearest heart starters (defibrillators) in emergency situations. 8 million users will now display the locations of heart starters registered in the Heart Starter Registry. The update, which began rolling out this week, aims to make life-saving equipment easier to find during cardiac emergencies.
Both Aftonbladet and Borås Tidning reported that the new feature could potentially save more lives by reducing the time it takes to locate defibrillators. The 112 app is widely used across Sweden for emergency communications and now expands its functionality to include this critical health feature.
