The Swedish football league Allsvenskan starts this weekend, and young talents are increasingly being recruited for resale to Europe for multi-million sums. Since 2020, current Allsvenskan clubs have recruited 65 players from African academies, of which 24 have been sold on for about 700 million kronor. Bazoumana Touré became one of Swedish football's biggest sales of all time when he was sold to Hoffenheim for an estimated 160 million kronor.

He played 23 matches for Hammarby before the sale. Örgryte IS has chosen a different path and focuses on local players, which sports manager Pontus Farnerud says is due to the club's organization and strategy.
