Swedish authorities train to counter foreign election disinformation

In Blekinge, Sweden, authorities are collaborating to counter the spread of foreign disinformation ahead of elections. The County Administrative Board and other agencies have trained local actors, including communicators and emergency managers, on information influence. According to Governor Ulrica Messing, citizens also share responsibility by reflecting on what they share and like on social media.

Magnus Hjort, director general of psychological defense, has been invited to Karlskrona to help raise awareness of influence campaigns, noting that Russia has previously conducted such campaigns against Sweden and other countries.
